Plants And Insects

For this week’s SIA, I knew I’d wear these pants to mimic the color of the watermelon and these boots to mimic the flowers and insects in the painting. What’s left is the background. At first, I thought about bringing out my mustard cardigan or yellow scarf, but the yellow looks garish against the green of my pants, so in the end, I picked a more neutral sweater and added my dragonfly brooch to it. I’m quite happy with the end result – perfect for SIA yet still functional, and that’s what these challenges are all about.

Don’t forget to come back on Wednesday to see other outfits inspired by this painting!

I saw your post on Instagram of the dragonfly pin but when I went back to try to find it, I couldn’t. I thought the pin was your interpretation of the painting, which seemed perfect to me. But then I come over here and see this whole outfit! Perfect. Your trousers are absolutely the watermelon rind! Love the soft shades of your sweater and blouse. Really a lovely look.
