SIA: Water Lilies
Posted: May 6, 2020 Filed under: Clothes, Style Imitating Art | Tags: style imitating art 6 CommentsWelcome to another week of SIA! Our inspiration this week is the absolute classic, “Water Lilies” by Claude Monet, and we have a really fun variety of outfits, so let’s get to it!
First up is Mike, who went with the shades of blue in the painting and took his photo in front of a “pond”… sort of:
Up next is our co-host, Kim, who went a different route and picked her camo skirt because the print reminds her of the brush strokes in Impressionist paintings:
Kezzie went all spring-y and chose this lovely blue-printed skirt that matched her background (!) with a floral blouse:
Our other co-host, Daenel, built her outfit around her headwrap and earrings, because the headwrap “kind of have an impressionist feel to them, while the earrings are purplish like the lilies”:
And finally, here’s me:
I hope that this challenge has given everybody a chance to go outside and enjoy nature for a bit, and to have some fun with our outfits. Don’t forget to check back next week for Daenel’s pick of the inspiration. Stay safe everyone!
I love everyone’s looks! I got a giggle out of Mike’s “pond.” Kezzie’s pants and beautiful blossoms really harmonize with the periwinkle blue. Nice job, everyone!
Haha, thanks! Not too long ago, we had actual ducks swimming back there! That’s how deep the water was!
A wonderful job by us all! We all look great and I love how we all incorporated an outdoors scene for our photos (I love those flowers in Kezzie’s photo!)!
I hope that everyone is staying safe and doing well.
Hope to see you all for the next challenge!
It’s always so good to see Kezzie!! Everyone did a great job.
Agreed! Always nice to see Kezzie! 🙂
Hmmm, lost my comment! I very much enjoyed the different takes everyone had on this inspiration from camoflage to ponds and brilliant shades of turquoise plus the beautiful pinks!
And thanks for everyone being glad to see me!
