Holiday In My Head

This year, due to COVID and the school closing, we don’t have much of a summer holiday – well, none at all in my case. My niece and nephew still get about a month off, but for us, we pretty much went straight from wrapping up the spring-summer semester to preparing for the fall-winter semester, with no break in between. Plus, it doesn’t look like we can travel anywhere soon – our family was going on a weekend trip to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday, but we’re facing a second wave of infection, so that was canceled 😦

Of course, I’m itching to travel, but between work and the pandemic still raging, I’m OK with not traveling for a while. I can quench my wanderlust by looking at my Pinterest “Travel” board and putting together an outfit like this. It just needs a straw hat, and I can pretend I’m in the French Riviera.

P/S: The post title is a song by Smash Mouth, and I felt so incredibly old when I looked it up and realized it was released 18 years ago. I remember being in high school and listening to it! It can’t have been 18 years ago!

First off, happy 70th to your dad! Sorry to hear that all of your plans have been put on hold due to COVID-19. My dad’s 61st birthday was two days ago and we wanted to take him out to dinner. But of course, that didn’t happen.
I feel a bit like a mole, not being able to go out to my usual places. That’s one of the reasons I’m glad to be back at work. That at least gets me out of the house. But the library is pretty “dead” right now as people are still staying in. It’s such a weird thing to see…

Be careful, Salazar. I heard from another friend of mine that you’re getting a surge of new cases over there too.
I think that my state is pretty steady for the moment but we’ll need to keep our fingers crossed.

Your outfit is amazing looking! You look good in red.

Have a good weekend and stay safe!

P.S. I know what you mean. A few weeks back, I was snapping photos for Kezzie’s art gallery project and I was looking at some of the dates on some of my pieces of art and I was like “wow!”. One of them had the year 2002 on it. I was 19 that year!! That was the year I graduated from high school! I’ll be 37 later this year. I feel old…

  3. You look lovely in that red dress! I think we all need to make fo with a Holiday in My Head for now. Perfect post title. Your comment on how long since you’d been in high school made me think of how long since I’d graduated. Ugh! 38 years ago. LOL!

  4. You look stunning in this dress.
