SIA: Race For The Moon

Welcome to another week of SIA! This week’s inspiration is the “Race for the Moon” quilt by Australian artist Susan Musgrove, and everybody did a great job with the sea&sand motifs, so let’s take a look:

First up is my co-host, Terri, who went with neutral colors for the sand, a blue top for the water, and an adorable turtle pin! She opted not to go for the black, as it would be too focus-pulling, and I agree:

Next up is my other co-host, Shelbee, who chose a “mermaid scale” print for her dress, tan accessories, and a moon-and-star necklace:

Sally has the perfect turtle T-shirt, and to go with it, she accessorized in a sand/teal color scheme:

Marsha also had the perfect dress – I didn’t realize everybody would have a marine/turtle-themed piece in their wardrobe! – and she wore it with a shrug and silver accessories:

And finally, here’s me:

This has been such a fun challenge! Thank you for participating, and remember to come back next week for a new inspiration, chosen by Terri!

  1. We are a group that loves our turtles, mermaids, and beachy colors! So fun. Every interpretation is on point, but a nice range of personal styles comes through.

  2. This was such a fun piece for style inspiration, Salazar! How great that everyone had turtle stuff! Except me. Ha. But mermaid scales saved the day! You all look fabulous!
