Style Imitating Art: Women Of Substance

This week’s inspiration is Octavio Ocampo’s “Woman of Substance”:

That’s twice in a row I picked a painting with a lot of blue, green, and white (Henri Rousseau’s “Woman Walking in an Exotic Forest” is the previous one.) I guess there’s just something about those cool shades in the summer that draws me in. It’s a weird coincidence that both paintings have “woman” in their titles too! Anyway, let’s see how everybody does.

First up it’s newcomer Erin of Loop Looks. Those eyelet pants are awesome:

How cute is Jen of Librarian for Life and Style in her breezy shirt dress? She even has the perfect accessory – a lily necklace!

Here’s Gracey of Fashion for Giants, whose leopard print belt adds a great touch:

Then we have Rebekah of From the Mixed-up Files. I want those shoes:

The always gorgeous Kristina of Eccentric Owls – love those flowers in her hair!

And here’s me. I almost took a leaf out of Gracey’s book and wore my teal skirt, but in the end I decided jeans were better. Full outfit post coming tomorrow!

I love how diverse this week’s outfits are. But then again you guys always surprise me. A big round of virtual applause to all you lovely ladies for participating!

  1. Great inspired-by outfits! Gracey may be my fave, but everyone looks great!

  2. Vivienne says:

Hooray! I love seeing everyone’s different outfits based on the same painting!

  3. Everyone looks so pretty! I think my fave is Kristina — such a pretty picture. And Salazar in pants — so glad you went with the unexpected! Yes, you ARE a woman of substance. 😀
