Green Legs
Posted: July 1, 2020 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: brooch, brown, brown flat sandals, green, green wide-leg pants, white, white embroidered linen top 1 CommentIf there is one color I’m navigating toward this summer, it’s green. Maybe because it’s so hot that I can only deal with cool colors, or maybe it’s just because I didn’t have a lot of it in my closet, but thanks to thrift stores, I’ve been stocking up. These pants are just one of the green things I bought recently (trust me, you’ll see more.)
The outfit is simple, but I decided to have some fun with the accessories and add my ladybird pin to the embroideries on my top. The ladybirds do love the coriander flowers in our garden.

Since our fall season is so short, I’ll take what I can get before winter hits. And even though the weather hasn’t cooled down properly yet, it doesn’t stop me from wearing these shoes again – I’ve been saving them for the fall, so of course I’d wear them the first chance I got.
Embroidered Top, Take Two
Posted: September 27, 2019 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: black, black culottes, black wedges, white, white embroidered linen top Leave a commentLast time I wore this embroidered linen top, I wasn’t sure if I should tuck it in or not, and decided that the fault lies in the silhouette of the pants and not in the tucking. So this time, I just went with the loose-loose silhouette and didn’t bother with any tucking at all. And guess what? It looked better, and it was a lot more comfortable too. I may try pairing this top with a more fitted pair of pants when the weather is cooler, but for now, loose-loose is the way to go.
To Tuck Or Not To Tuck
Posted: August 2, 2019 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: black, black loafers, gray, gray linen pants, white, white embroidered linen top 2 CommentsI don’t know about this outfit, you guys. It’s another embroidered top I got from the annual sale of my local boutique, and I’m a sucker for anything botanical (the embroidery on this particular top is cilantro flowers and seed pods), so I’m excited to wear it, but when I received the top, it turns out to be more cropped than I expected. You’d think that crop tops would work on a long torso like mine, but not always. When I wore the top untucked, it looked sloppy, and when I tried the French tuck, it didn’t look quite right either. It’s frustrating, isn’t it, when you’re looking forward to wearing a new item and then it turns into a struggle? Maybe it’s the pants. I’ll try pairing it with a different pair next time and see how that works.
