Bugs And Bars

Because there are bugs on my top and stripes (bars) on my skirt, get it? Now that the new semester has started, I’m moving away from the more casual outfits and focusing more on something work-appropriate (or, I should say, Zoom-appropriate, since I’m still working from home), so in the next week or so, I’m going to post all the rest of the summery outfits. This T-shirt and skirt combination is a no-brainer, but looking at these photos, I realize I should’ve worn my clog sandals with it. These flat sandals do my thick ankles no favor. I’ve never noticed it before because I always wear them with pants, but I guess flat sandals + midi skirt is not a good combo.

Chai Latte

The last time I wore this skirt, one of my co-workers remarked that it looks like a latte (I think she was suffering from caffeine withdrawal at the moment), so this time, I decided to lean into that coffee look and paired it with my brown shirt and beige sandals. The thing is, I don’t actually drink coffee – I love the smell but hate the taste. Vietnam is famous for its coffee, but all that is wasted on me, I’m afraid. If I go to a coffee shop, I usually get some fruit juice (in the summer) or a hot chocolate or tea (in the winter), hence the “chai latte” title.

Thanks, It Has Pockets!

Does anything make a girl more excited than a dress/skirt with pockets? Whenever a girl receives a compliment on her pocketed dress/skirt, she always replies with “Thanks, it has pockets!” and makes a show of putting her hands in them, right? I know I do (I recently saw this meme about it, which makes me laugh out loud.). The appeal of the pockets is so great that when I saw this skirt on sale, I was ready to pass it up per my resolution not to buy anything new, but then I saw that it has pockets, and, well, my fate was sealed.

Also, as pretentious as it sounds, I feel a bit like Carolina Herrera in this outfit. It’s the combination of white button-up shirt and midi skirt, I guess.
