Dreams Of Summer
Posted: April 2, 2014 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: blue, brown oxfords, navy print sleeveless blouse, necklace, red, red pants 5 CommentsIt’s been unseasonably warm these last few days, and I decided to bring out this shirt which I brought last season but never got a chance to wear until now. Of course, “unseasonably warm” is just Mother Nature’s code for “You think it’s going to warm up? April Fools!” before blasting us with another cold snap, so I shouldn’t get too comfortable too soon.

Chicken Girl
Posted: February 7, 2014 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: bracelet, converse sneakers, gray, gray cardigan, red, red pants, white, white v-neck popover 6 CommentsWhile watching Austenland again to do screencaps for the review (any excuse to watch and rewatch every scene with JJ Feild in it!) I suddenly noticed this little outfit Keri Russel has on during the airport scene and thought, Hey, that looks cute. It’s nothing especially fashion-forward, of course, but it’s still fairly put-together, and just the thing I needed while staying at home catching up on work assignments. Now I just need a “I ♥ Mr. Darcy” tote – or rather, “I ♥ Mr. Tilney”, because honestly, I’m a bit of a Darcy when it comes to social situations, so I’d need Mr. Tilney’s charm more than Darcy’s scowl.
I recently discovered this new location – it’s just some crumbling steps leading down to the chicken-run in our backyard, but it works when the front yard is too sunny. Everybody seemed to like it last time I took pictures here, and here I am again. The only tricky part is the chickens always think I’m bringing food, so it’s difficult to stop them from photo-bombing me (as you can see below!)

Wear All The Stripes!
Posted: September 30, 2013 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: black multi striped top, converse sneakers, necklace, red, red pants 3 CommentsThe weather is warming up over the weekend, but it still feels deliciously fall-like – sunny, but cool and crisp. I know weather talk is boring, but you have to understand that days when humidity is below 60% are so rare for us, so I’m always excited for them. Besides they never last – it’s going to rain today, all the way until the end of the week.
Another thing to be excited about: this shirt. My stripe addiction is no secret, and I’ve been trying to find a new long-sleeved striped shirt with no success, so when I tried it on and it fits, I knew I had to get it. I mean, it has all the stripes. What’s not to love, right?
And finally, yet another exciting thing: I know, I know, you guys are probably still screaming about the Breaking Bad finale, but it was the last episode of The IT Crowd that I watched over the weekend. It still has the signature surreal sense of humor, there are some great callbacks to previous episodes, and a Game of Thrones reference. I’m happy.

Day & Night
Posted: September 9, 2013 Filed under: Clothes, Style Imitating Art | Tags: black, black tee, navy polka dot scarf, red, red pants, style imitating art, yellow flats 4 CommentsThis is my outfit inspired by George Rodrigue’s “Day and Night Electricity“. This one is pretty simple: black, red, blue, with a bit of white and a bit of yellow. I thought about wearing one of my black skirts, but I don’t have any red top, plus baring my legs right after the rain when the mosquitoes are coming out in hungry swarms would be asking for trouble. Annoying, itchy trouble. So pants it is. It’s not until after I finished taking these photos that I realized I totally forgot to have a picture with my dog Taco (he kinda looks like the dog in the painting too). I guess he was more interested in running around in the garden after being cooped up inside for so long due to the rain.
In other news, looks like I’m going to have to teach an entire class (that same class I taught two weeks ago) by myself until the end of the month because the professor actually had a small accident. They’re in the middle of writing short films, so my plan? Show them all the Pixar shorts. They’re great fun and you can’t beat the structure.
