Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May

This is my interpretation of this week’s SIA inspiration, John William Waterhouse’s “Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May”. I’m not happy with it though. It definitely sounded better in my head. I thought these shorts would be a good idea because they mimic the dark background of the painting (the rose printed shirt is self-explanatory), but Bermuda shorts are not my friends. It’s just that I couldn’t think of any bottom to pair with this shirt that could work for the painting too. Oh well. Maybe by checking other outfits on Jess’ blog, I can get some idea?

One More To Go

I wore this today to the craft store (mostly to avoid the heat, but I did need some stuff.) I went last Sunday morning, but the store wasn’t able to open due to a flood in their store room. And today, just as I was browsing around, the power went out. Not just in the store, in the entire shopping center as well. So much for my plan to freeload on air-conditioning. In the end, I did manage to find my things at another location, but… I swear, that place hates me.

A good thing came from this trip though: a lady standing at the bus stop with me told me that I “have put together the cutest outfit” 🙂

We had half day off at my internship thanks to Memorial weekend, so I went to this park near my house to get some “magic hour” photos I wanted. But I could only snap a few, because the camera decided to die on me. Good thing I’ve got a few shots this morning before I left.

I consider this jacket to be my biggest win in thrifting so far – it’s Diane von Furstenberg! I never pay much attention to brand names, even when I shop at thrift stores – which I probably should (I thrifted a pair of Walmart shoes!) – but when I found a Diane von Furstenberg jacket for $6 (that fits), I couldn’t pass it up.
