I’m getting to that point when I’m sick of my warm-weather wardrobe, but the weather is not cool enough to bring out my cold-weather clothes yet. It makes for a vicious cycle. Because I’m bored with my warm-weather clothes, my outfits are uninspired, and because I feel uninspired, I keep buying fall/winter clothes to alleviate my boredom (all thrifted/secondhand, of course, but it’s becoming a problem), and now I end up with too many cold-weather clothes that I’m not able to wear yet, which in turn makes me feel more bored and uninspired. But! The weather is cooling down soon – a tiny amount, but it’s still going to be cooler – so hopefully that can give me some much-needed inspiration. So here is the last of the summer’s outfits. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s comfy and relatively interesting with the red details, so I thought I’d give it its own post.
Thanks everyone for your kind words about my dog. She’s doing well now. Luckily, she only got flesh wounds, and in Vietnam we have a saying that goes “A dog heals its skin, a chicken heals its bones”, which means dog’s skin and chicken’s bones are easy to heal, so it looks like she’s on her way to a full recovery.
I have two casual outfits today. The semester is officially over for the students, but there are still papers to read and grades to turn in, so I opted for something easy and breathable. I didn’t realize it until I put the two of them together, but they are actually inspired by Keira Knightley’s outfits in Begin Again, specifically these two. I’ve been getting inspirations for my summer wardrobe from that movie since I first saw it – it’s one of the few movies with realistic costumes that I can actually recreate, and it helps that her character’s style is pretty timeless too.
School has officially started this week, so this is the last of my summer outfits before we’re back to the work attire. Usually I’m glad when summer is over, but this summer hasn’t been too bad – mostly thanks to my watercolor class, and I’ve also been excercising more regularly with the help of Blogilates (it’s great for a couch potato like me, because it gives you a monthly calendar with workout videos for each day, which you can just follow along without having to think what exercise you’re going to do). I have more energy, so the days are more fun and productive. Plus, work is going to be extra busy this year. One of my classes is graduating, and I’m going to have to look over their theses… So yeah, I’m not looking forward to going back to work.
P/S: I just realize this outfit would be great for this week’s SIA, but I already have another outfit planned. Just wait and see 😉
