I wore this to see Captain America: Civil War last weekend (yes, we got it a week earlier than the US, neener-neener) and as you can see from my red, white, and blue outfit, I’m firmly on #teamcap. As for the movie, I certainly enjoyed it more than the mess that is Age of Ultron, but it definitely suffers from the “too many superheroes” problem. I could have done without Vision, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and War Machine (Falcon is awesome, and Ant-Man and the new Spider-Man are funny, so I’ll let them slide, even though I am so fed up with yet another Spidey, and Black Panther is pretty important to the plot so he can stay too.) On the other hand, I could have done with more Black Widow, who is criminally underused here. But then again, everything could have done with more Black Widow.
Top & Pants: Mango, Sandals: Aldo, Brooch: vintage
I didn’t mean to put together two Fourth of July looks, but since this is what I had lying around last Friday, I just reached for them. The fact that it was another red, white, and blue outfit was purely by chance – I wasn’t thinking much about my sartorial choices, because we’re having another asphalt-melting heat wave over here. For this whole week, I only went outside to take outfit photos early in the morning, scrambled indoors, and didn’t set foot outside again until long after sunset. But it’s been hot all over the world too, hasn’t it? We’re lucky that our house has air conditioners and is relatively cool even without them (when it’s 100+ outside, the temperature in our living room remains around 85.) I don’t know how people in Europe survive without air conditioning.
T-shirt: Gap, Pants: Mango, Cuff: local shop, Sandals: gift
And here are my looks this week – that’s the most colors I’ve worn in a while:
I wore this last Sunday to go to a charity flea market with a couple of friends. I’ve been going through thrifting withdrawal ever since I moved home, so I was really excited about it. Unfortunately, I forgot that my style has changed a lot since then, and the stuff there was so more boho than I usually like anyway – I prefer twee/vintage when it comes to thrifted stuff – so I didn’t get anything. Oh well. At least it was a nice outing… or it would’ve been, if it wasn’t crazy hot (102 and climbing).
T-shirt: Uniqlo (drawn by me), Pants: Mango, Sandals: gift, Necklace: self-made
These pants are ridiculously comfortable. So comfortable in fact, that I bought two pairs in different colors. I never do that! But wouldn’t you buy multiples too, when you find pants that feel just like pajamas but are nice enough to be worn outside the house (wonky rolled cuffs notwithstanding)? I have a feeling we’re going to see a lot more of them on the blog in the future.
Also, the bracelet is kind of an afterthought, but my outfits have been monochromatic for quite some time now, so I thought I should add some colors back in small doses. Speaking of which, I was looking through my archives the other day and saw a post where I complained that an outfit is “too monochromatic” so I added in two pops of color. I really have come full circle, haven’t I?
