An outfit like this can be more difficult to accessorize than you’d think. The print on the shirt means that a necklace or brooch wouldn’t look good on it, and I only have two bracelets and none of them goes well with it either. So in the end I opted for this belt – the buckle can count as jewelry and it adds a pop of color too. Win-win.
P/S: The post title is actually an obscure reference to this scene in Black Books. There’s a feather on my belt and the print of my shirt looks like brush strokes so that’s what my brain comes up with. Yeah, I can be very literal sometimes.

Remember how I always say we don’t have much of a fall around here? It is usually still warm by late October, then comes November and bam, a cold snap. This year, though, we seem to have more of an actual fall season, with crisp, cool mornings and nights, and warm days. Apparently (according to my parents anyway), this is because it’s an intercalary year in the lunar calendar, which means the lunar year has 13 months instead of 12, so the 10 days or so of fall weather we usually have every year is stretched out into a whole month. I don’t know, my mom gave me this long-winded explanation about how intercalation works, but I was pretty sure my eyes glazed over half-way through it. I just know that I would’ve really enjoyed this kind of weather, had I picked out enough clothes for it in my capsule. Now I’m wearing the same shit over and over again and I actually want it to get colder just so I could change up my look a bit… I’m just never happy, am I?

No, I didn’t mislabel the post or anything. It’s just that the capsule wardrobe has gone through its first change: this shirt, to replace my red striped top. My reason is that it’s going to stay warm for at least a while, so this cotton shirt would be much more versatile. The red striped top is a bit worn anyway; I may just keep it to wear around the house from now on.
I have a feeling that this won’t be the first casualty in the capsule. But hey, it wouldn’t be an experiment if it was perfect the first time, would it?
