The Garden Rules
Posted: January 27, 2012 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: blue, bracelet, green, green striped shirt, red, red wedges, wrap skirt 18 CommentsIsn’t this skirt gorgeous? I was browsing Etsy one night when I saw it, and even though I’m not usually a big fan of wrap skirts, the print is so lovely that I had to snatch it up. And the best part? It’s reversible (red on the other side), so I got two skirts in one!
Today’s Winter Edition challenge is “Pattern Mixing” (easy peasy) and the ABC’s of Style challenge is “J for Jewel Tones”, which the skirt represents. I never thought I would wear red and green together outside of Christmas, but the colors of the skirt definitely tie it all together.

Office Drone
Posted: November 2, 2011 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: belt, black slingbacks, gray, gray pencil skirt, green, green striped shirt, mustard cardigan, yellow 5 CommentsA while ago I posted an outfit which I called “the most office-y” one that I’ve worn. Well, the championship cup has changed hands. This is the most office-y outfit I’ve ever worn. But it’s for a job interview, so it’s appropriate.
In other news, I’ve just signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month.) It’s basically a pledge to write a novel in a month. That may sound daunting, but the goal is to write a “vomit draft.” Quantity over quality. Get it out first, then you’ll have all the time in the world to revise it. I actually have an idea for a novel, with everything more ore less planned out, I just need to sit down and write it. I write very slowly when there’s no deadline (what with my OCD combined with procrastination), so hopefully this can light a fire under me and make me finish it.
A cheesy “fall” picture because why not

New Favorite Location
Posted: September 7, 2011 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: belt, black, black polka dot pleated skirt, bracelet, green, green striped shirt, teal flats 7 CommentsI think I’ve found my favorite location for photoshoots. It’s a park near my place. I’ve shot there a few times (here and here), but every time I go back I keep discovering lovely little corners. And the best part? The place is huge, so aside from the occasional jogger (and hobo), I don’t run into anybody.
The only thing I have to remember is to wear my old pair of walking shoes next time, then change into the outfit’s shoes – the paths are so dusty my flats were almost sand-colored by the time I got home.

Insert Clever Title Here
Posted: August 8, 2011 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: belt, black plaid dress, black slingbacks, brooch, brown, green, green striped shirt 7 CommentsI’ve been staring at the screen for 15 minutes trying to come up with a clever title for the post. And then I gave up. It’s too early in the week.
This outfit is for the next Everybody Everywear challenge – Pattern Mixing. I had a planned different outfit, with the usual floral + stripe mix, but this morning I had a sudden change of heart and decided to go with a mix that I haven’t tried before – stripes and plaid (I don’t want to title the post “Stripes and Plaid” because it’s too obvious.) I also wasn’t sure about the brown belt + black shoes combo, but the dress has enough black in it that I think it’s OK.

The Journey Is More Important Than The End Or The Start
Posted: July 20, 2011 Filed under: Clothes, Remix | Tags: 33x33 remix, belt, bracelet, gray heels, green, green striped shirt, pink, pink floral skirt 5 CommentsWell, this is it, people. The final outfit of my 33×33 Remix Challenge. Cue fireworks! Those were two long months, but I’m finally finished. Now I can welcome back the rest of my wardrobe with opened arms.
I will post a recap tomorrow, but my thought after my first ever remix is: it’s fun while it lasts, but the past week has felt like the last few weeks of a semester, when you’re crawling on your bellies through all the homework and papers that have piled up, trying to finish them before the end, with only the approaching holiday as your light at the end of the tunnel. So yeah, it’s fun, but I’m not doing it again any time soon.
Oh and, I’d planned to do some kind of fun pose like jumping or something to, you know, celebrate. But my camera remote chose this morning, of all mornings, to die. As if it knew. And wanted to mock me. So I made do using the camera’s timer, but I didn’t trust my manual focus skill for an action shot.

P/S: The post title is from Linkin Park’s “Enth E Nd.” It seems like an appropriate choice, since it’s a remix of their song “In The End.” Get it? 😀
