As I’m reintroducing colors into my wardrobe (actually, I’m re-reintroducing them, having gone full circle “introducing colors – back to neutrals – introducing colors again” since I started the blog), I’m discovering some new color combinations that I haven’t thought of before. When I first started the blog, I might try bright, even eye-searing combinations like red and green, teal and purple, or yellow and fuchsia (ye gods!) but now, my combinations are a little more pleasant, if I do say so myself. Like this gray blouse and mustard culottes, for example. I just thought I’d try pairing them together because of the yellow buttons on the blouse, but they turn out to go quite well together, don’t they?
Here it is. The outfit I planned for SIA. Not as exciting and/or stylish as the one I posted on Monday, is it? I just thought that the polka dot blouse would be a good fit for the gray part of the painting, and the jeans and the brown oxfords are self-explanatory. I was going to wear my “house” necklace as well, because it sort of looks like the houses around the market place in the painting, but what with my lack of interest in jewelry these days, I simply forgot about it. Ah well.
The full round-up will be posted tomorrow, so if you haven’t sent me your outfit photos, there’s still time!
What’s this? A third post this week? Inconceivable! But as the start of the semester is looming closer, I have more work to do at school, so I had an excuse put on some real clothes at least more than once a week. This is still very simple, but the blouse is new (it’s one of the new tops I got from my shopping trip with my sister) so it looks like I put some effort in. The blouse is really lightweight, so it’s great for these muggy, stormy days, but its colors – gray and yellow – are appropriate for fall as well, so I think it would be good for late August.
Speaking of which, I’ve started to see some “fall style” posts cropping on the blogosphere. I don’t care if the fashion world apparently has its own calendar compared with the rest of the world; I don’t want to see cardigans and scarves on my reader while it’s still 90+ here. Of course, I’m eager for fall as well – hence the cheesy title (I’ve been listening to The Smiths) – but it’s too soon, bloggers.
And yes, these are the same jeans from Monday. I re-wear my clothes all the time; it’s just that when I have more outfit posts, I space them out so it’s not as noticeable.
