How Many Ways

The 30 Days of Dresses challenge has made me realize several reasons why I don’t wear dresses enough. One is that most of my dresses are kinda short. The other, more obvious reason, is that I always struggle with how to style a dress in an interesting way. With separates you can mix and match, but with a dress you can only throw a cardigan/blazer/shirt on top of it. Take this outfit for example – I’ve worn this combination (usually with the same boots and belt) more times than I care to remember. Am I wrong? Are there more ways to style a dress that I can’t think of? (I know there’s folding down the top of a dress to wear it like a skirt, but to me it’s cheating a little bit.)

Matchy-Matchy No-No

Ever since I started wearing belts as accessories (and not just a thing to hold up my pants), I’ve become one of those people who are really OCD about matching belts to shoes. Of course I try to match other things in my outfit too, but the shoe-and-belt thing is the worst. And it drives me crazy because none of my belts/shoes match. Either they have the same color, but the belt is patented and the shoes aren’t or vice versa, or they will all be in different shades of brown that don’t match.

Well, no more of that, I say. Today nothing I wear matches, and even though I’m still twitchy a little bit inside, I’m OK with it 😀

Also, look! Belted cardigan!

Well… on top anyway. It was inspired by this look.

Got nothing much to say, except that my legs are still itchy but slightly better (thank you oatmeal!), and I have to run because I’m helping a friend shoot his zombie film. So I’ll let the pics do the talking:
