1870 Meets 1970

This outfit is actually inspired by one of Timothee Chalamet’s outfits in Little Women (2019), namely this velvet waistcoat (I may not like the film’s costume design from a historical accuracy standpoint, but I do like the clothes for myself.) I tried pairing my waistcoat with gray pants like in the photo, but it made me look like a waiter/valet, so I switched to this louder pair instead. I also had another go at a faux “watch chain”, and I think like this one better than my previous attempt. The big collar of my shirt, though, gives the outfit a 1970s vibe, hence the post title.

Dapper Cats

I had previously titled a post “Dapper Dog” because I accessorized the outfit in that post with a brooch of a dog wearing a bow tie, so naturally, here, where I’m wearing my cat(s) brooch, the title is inevitable. This waistcoat is one of the velvet ones that I mentioned in last week’s post – initially, I didn’t intend to get a black waistcoat, thinking it is too waitress-y, but after looking around a bit, I realized it is an absolute classic. And it all depends on how you style it anyway, so I’m looking forward to wearing it more.
