Fully Vaxxed

I wore this to get my second dose of vaccine. Just like last time, I built the outfit around a sleeveless top and kept the rest of the outfit simple and comfy. It was such a relief to be fully vaccinated. Considering how I’m prone to the flu and colds, I was prepared for the effects of the vaccine, yet funnily enough, I had almost no reaction to either dose – just a bit of pain and stiffness at the injection site, nothing more. My mom also got her first dose a couple of days ago, so it was one less thing to worry about. Things are slowly improving around here too. The number of new cases is still high, but it’s on the decline, and the lockdown has eased up a bit, so fingers crossed!

Gold Roots

Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Brazilian artist Janaina Mello Landini’s installation “Ciclotrama“. I went with the black-and-white theme of the installation, and added this gold brooch, which has both the gold touch of the frame and the root-like shape of the ropes. I thought about wearing my black t-strap heels to further mimic the ropes, but they look too heavy, so I went with these simple black pumps instead. However, I’m still kicking myself for not remembering my braided black belt – it would’ve been the perfect finishing touch! But well, not everything can be perfect, can it?

If you haven’t sent me your outfit, you still have until tomorrow, and don’t forget to come back on Wednesday to see other outfits inspired by this amazing installation!

Black & White Galaxy

If my spring/summer wardrobe this year has been all about embroideries and botanical theme, then another theme is emerging for my fall/winter clothes – celestial. I guess it’s just an extension of my “nature” aesthetics, and in the fall/winter, when flowers and plants are withering, stars and moons just make more sense to me. I’ve found a couple of galaxy-themed sweaters at the thrift stores, but while it’s still too warm to bring them out, I’m experimenting with my accessories first – like this Big Dipper brooch or these star socks. Gods, when is sweater weather going to get here?!
