SIA Inspiration: Ray Morimura
Posted: May 9, 2022 Filed under: Style Imitating Art | Tags: style imitating art 4 CommentsIt’s my turn to host SIA, and here’s my pick:
This is the woodblock print “Lotus Pond” by Japanese artist Ray Morimura. I’ve always loved Japanese woodblock prints, and Morimura’s works have a modern, graphic quality that sets them apart from the traditional ones. I picked this lotus one because summer is around the corner, and lotus always signifies summer for me. You can learn more about Morimura and see his works here and here, and remember to send me your outfits by next Tuesday, May 17th. Enjoy!
I love this artwork so much! The colors and the woodblock print and the lotus flowers are all just so beautiful! I can’t wait to see all the interpretations!
