The Mystery Of Water

For this week’s SIA, inspired by Christi Belcourt‘s “The Mystery of Water”, I had to think a bit. My first instinct is to wear my fish-print shirt, but it’s a bit too early for that (I usually reserve it for the height of summer), plus I had no idea what to pair with it. I know I want something with a water theme, and by a stroke of luck, I recently bought this dress printed with a river scene, so I decided to build my outfit around it. Once I had that foundation, the rest of the outfit came easy, and I topped it off with my yin-yang fish pin. All in all, I’m really pleased with the outfit – it’s not a close visual match to the inspiration, but it’s pretty spot-on thematically.

  1. I think this interpretation is wonderful-especially the yin-yang fish. I am really attracted to the dress print sort of a French Toile for river lovers!

Oh wow, Salazar, what a fabulous dress! I love the river scene on it and like you said the colors might not be spot on but the theme is and it is just a really awesome outfit! So winning all around! What a fun fish brooch, too. I love this whole look from head to toe!

  4. Nice choice for a thematic interpretation of the piece. Of course I absolutely LOVE those heeled Oxfords so points for that too 🙂

  5. Wow what a stunning dress, Salazar! It’s perfect for this theme. And I’m also loving your beautiful little pin!
