SIA Inspiration: Norman Rockwell 2.0
Posted: January 31, 2022 Filed under: Style Imitating Art | Tags: style imitating art 2 CommentsWelcome to another week of SIA, and the first challenge curated by our new co-host, Shelbee of Shelbee On The Edge, and here’s her pick:
For her first challenge, Shelbee chose the “Sunday Morning” illustration by Norman Rockwell. This has a very special meaning to her – her family had a framed copy of this illustration hanging in their kitchen, and according to her mother, it was a true representation of their Sunday morning ritual – the man even resembles her father! January 22 was the 27th anniversary of her father’s passing, so she wanted to share this piece in honor of him. I think that’s awesome, and there are a lot of colors, textures, and shapes here to interpret. So remember to send your outfits to her (shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com) by next Tuesday, February 7th. Have fun!
Salazar, I love the way you introduced this piece! Thanks so much for sharing its personal meaning to me! I got a little teary-eyed reading it. I can’t wait to see all the style interpretations. By the way, I just announced a new series on my blog today called Songful Style. Suzy of The Grey Brunette and I will be choosing a song each month to inspire an outfit. I think it’s going to be another super fun series! The first song is “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” by Nancy Sinatra.

Ooh, that series sounds fun! I’d try to participate for sure!
