SIA Inspiration: Pierre Bonnard
Posted: March 1, 2021 Filed under: Style Imitating Art | Tags: style imitating art 3 CommentsIt’s my turn to host SIA, and here’s my pick:
This is “Woman with a Dog” (I don’t why the title refers to only one woman, there are clearly two women in it) by French Post-impressionist Pierre Bonnard. I picked it for the textures, patterns (the gingham dress, the polka dot scarf), and the contrasting colors, plus any painting featuring a pet always draws my attention. So put together an outfit inspired by this and send it to me by next Tuesday, March 9th. Bonus point if you can get your dog (or cat! I don’t mind!) in the photo with you! Have fun!
Great pick, Salazar! I really like the different patterns and the colors and textures in this painting as well. I am already getting some ideas in my head for styling this one! I don’t think my cats will ever cooperate for a photo though!
