SIA: Nebra Sky Disk
Posted: January 27, 2021 Filed under: Clothes, Style Imitating Art | Tags: style imitating art 4 CommentsWelcome to another SIA challenge! Our inspiration this week is the Nebra sky disk, and everybody brought out their best celestial-inspired pieces, so let’s get to it!
First up is Nancy, who put together a bad-ass look with her metallic pants and leather jacket:
Shelbee is a regular SIA participant, but this is the first time I hosted her, so welcome, Shelbee! Check out her amazing sequin skirt:
Mike added a touch of yellow to brighten up his outfit:
My co-host, Terri, had wonderful accessories and props (see the book behind her?):
Bev also has the perfect accessory – check out her blog for a close-up of her necklace:
My other co-host, Daenel, wore this outfit before I announced the inspiration, but it’s perfect, so why change it?
Leslie‘s outfit featured such a fun texture on her cardigan, and her necklace fits the inspiration so well:
We can always count on Kezzie for something super cute and fabulous, and she does not disappoint with this skirt:
Finally, here’s me:
Big thanks to everybody for participating! Don’t forget to check back next week for Daenel’s pick!
Oh wow, everyone looks so fabulous in their sky disk inspired outfits! I wrote an entire post about the discovery and history of the sky disk. It was super fun to research! What a great piece for the inspiration this time! Thanks for hosting. I am really enjoying the SIA series.

Wow! So many participants and everyone looks so different. Love it.
Ah, I love this one so much! Everyone has gorgeous hues of blues and greens! And the wonderful metallics and details! It was a wonderful art piece!
What a great turnout! Everyone had a different idea on how to interpret the disk, but we all hit it spot on! A very unique and fun piece for an SIA.
