SIA Inspiration: John William Godward

It’s Daenel’s turn to host SIA, and here’s her choice of the inspiration:

This is “Sweet Dreams” by John William Godward, who is best known for his paintings of languid women in classical settings, with exquisite contrast of textures – just check out the marble, the fabric, and the tiger skin in the painting above. Daenel picks it for the animal print, but there are a lot of good details and colors here as well. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with. Just remember to send your outfits to Danenel (livingoutsidethestacks@gmail.com) by next Tuesday, October 8th. Have fun!

As I told Kim, the green was all I saw at first glance. My absolute favorite color! But then I noticed the maroon color, and the tiger stripes, and the marble and those tiny flowers and the edge of the rug. So much more to love here than just that fantastic sage. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
