SIA Inspiration: Memorial Day Poppy

It’s Jen’s turn to pick the inspiration for this week’s SIA, and as it’s Memorial Day, her choice of artwork couldn’t be more appropriate:

This is an 18th century botanic illustration of the poppy, which has been used as a symbol of remembrance since World War I. The illustration is simple yet bold, and there are plenty of options for outfit here – floral print is a no-brainer, but you can also do “pop of color” or use a detail, like the black-and-white butterfly, as a starting point.
