Discourse On Turtlenecks
Posted: March 28, 2017 Filed under: Clothes | Tags: black, black jeans, black turtleneck, brooch, brown, brown ankle boots, gray tweed blazer 3 CommentsEver since Kezzie mentioned that a turtleneck always makes her think of Armie Hammer’s character in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I haven’t been able to get that out of my head. Of course, I’m not trying to channel him with this outfit – due to the blazer, it is less “Russian spy with an anger management issue” and more “aging philosophy professor trying to look cool” – but I think the turtleneck does give the outfit a European flare. And because of that, I decided to give the post a pretentious title.
Yes, I do spend time thinking up bizarrely specific descriptions for my outfits. What, you guys don’t?
Turtleneck: Uniqlo, Jeans & Boots: local shops, Blazer: hand-me-down, Brooch: vintage
Not so much with outfits, but I often like to think of witty, whimsical titles and phrases for things, particularly in the subject lines for e-mail. It’s especially fun when I can link a saying I come up with to something in pop culture, only with my own spin on it. š
We’re matching again today, Salazar as I’m sporting my usual all black attire. But I don’t have an awesome blazer to go with it. A great look for you, especially with your L-shaped brooch!
Ha ha ha!!!! I love it!!! You totally remind me of Ilya here!!!!!
This professor-cool look is so up my alley. And the vintage “L” brooch makes me smile and think of the old “Laverne & Shirley” sitcom. š
