My First Leather Jacket

During my last week in Amsterdam, I went into a Zara to look for something for my sister. I didn’t find anything there (I did later end up buying a sweater for her from another store), but this leather jacket caught my eyes. Now, a leather jacket is one of those items often featured on the “must have” list of a well-stocked closet that I never feel is truly necessary. I don’t live in a climate that calls much for a leather jacket, and it’s a bit edgier than my usual style.

Of course, I’m wearing it right now, so you know where this story is going – I bought the jacket anyway. In my defense, it was 75% off (!!!), and real leather to boot. Also, perhaps it was I bought it because every girl around me was sporting a leather jacket (they do love their leather jackets in Europe), or perhaps because I had just read that book on Neil Gaiman and all the talk about his ubiquitous black leather got to my head. Either way, here is my first (and possibly only) leather jacket, and I’m hoping I can wear it more often and in more creative ways than this. And hey, it would be perfect if I ever want to dress up as Jessica Jones again!

Congrats on owning your first leather jacket Salazar! It’s a great fit for you!
I admit that I have never owned a leather jacket of any sort (despite my love of the color black). My brother actually has one and I’ve been tempted to steal it from him from time to time (he better watch out!).

But seriously, I think the jacket suits you well. It was a great purchase for you. And hey, you can’t beat 75% off the original price, right? And the Jessica Jones look? Go for it!!!

It looks great!!! It is funny you should have bought one because I bought a sheepskin jacket from a charity shop on Saturday. It has a soft leather exterior and sumptuous sheepskin lining. I am so chuffed with it!x

  3. Nice! I don’t have a leather jacket (I have a pleather jacket that’s more like an overcoat, but it’s obviously faux leather), so kudos to you! Can’t beat 75% off and the memories of Amsterdam 🙂
