Weekly Capsule 51.3: Not-So-Subtle Christmas

I wore this to the Christmas pageant at my niece and nephew’s kindergarten, so I threw subtlety out the window and just went straight for the red + green + white (and added the holly brooch in case anybody was still confused.) Of course, it was a good thing my jeans were maroon; true red would’ve been pretty eye-searing – I don’t think I’m brave enough to try that!

I love this combo Salazar! It’s a perfect look for Christmas without it being too obvious. And I agree. I don’t think the true red would have went well with your dark green jacket. The maroon color matches better with it because it’s a darker shade too.

And I know what you mean. When I wore my bright red shirt last week, I felt that all eyes were on me because it’s so out of my spectrum as far as color scheme goes. When I do wear color, I prefer darker shades, like burgundy or dark forest green. I’d like to find a way to combine those like you did. Maybe next Christmas!

  2. Merry Christmas, young, chic lady!

  3. Such a lovely coat! And a perfect holiday-appropriate outfit with the dark green and burgundy 🙂

  4. Thanks for linking up to the Top of the World Style party. Happy holidays and a happy New Year
