Weekly Capsule 30.1 & SIA: The Singing Butler

For this week’s SIA, inspired by Jack Vettriano’s “The Singing Butler“, I put together something really simple. If it wasn’t the summer break, I would probably do something more office-appropriate, as something about the crisp color schemes of black, gray, and red just reminds me of office wear. But since I’m strictly working from home these days, tee, pants and sneakers it is. At least my sneakers are a perfect match to the ground in the painting. And thank God the weather is cooling down (monsoon season is finally here, hooray!) so I was able to add the red scarf as a pop of color.

Come to think of it, I should’ve added an umbrella too, but it wasn’t raining when I took these photos so I thought it would be pretentious.

Remember to check Jess’ blog for other interpretations of this painting.

Great look Salazar! You got all the colors matched perfectly with the painting (which I really like by the way. I never heard of this artist).
I just finished getting my outfit together and took pictures (before it gets too hot!) for SIA and will send them to Jess for tomorrow’s round-up. I’m a bit excited about this one because I’m trying something a little different.
Also glad to hear that your weather is cooling down. It’s finally heating up over here as the end of July/beginning of August are usually when our hottest days occur. And for the first time this summer, no sign of rain anywhere in the forecast! It had rained so much here when summer began that it felt like we were in some kind of monsoon season! I’ll be glad when autumn begins here in about 2 months.
But again, great interpretation of the painting.

Pretentious…or sun-safety-savvy? Either way, you look great.
