Weekly Capsule 02.3

white shirt navy dress brown ankle boots by 14 shades of grey

I notice that this week’s outfits have been even more repetitive than last week’s (all sweater + jeans + ankle boots), so in an attempt to have a different silhouette, I added this shift dress to this week’s capsule. It’s fitting too, because Audrey of Putting Me Together has just started a weekly style challenge, and this week’s theme is “wear a dress”.

I would like to wear more dresses and skirts in the winter too, but I find it really difficult to figure out what sweater and shoes to pair with a dress or skirt. Even this outfit took me half an hour last night trying things on and fussing, before I said “Ah, fuck it” and decided on this combination – which is OK but not my favorite (plain black tights and black boots would be better.) With jeans it’s so much easier. You can just pretty much throw anything on and they’ll go together.

I absolutely adore the booties with it though! Black boots would be cool, but the booties really break up all the black.

What a lovely outfit — I’m all about gray! And those tights are gorgeous!

  3. Awwww, I really like the heathered grey tights and mustard booties! The tights echo the scarf, and the booties link back to the brooch. And the proportions of this outfit are just right for your shape! 🙂

    Looks good to me!!!
