Style Imitating Art: Floating Sculptures

It’s time for SIA again. This week we are inspired by the floating paper sculptures of Peter Genternaar, and everybody picked her favorite piece to interpret, so we have a lot of varieties, but a lot of similar themes as well (pleats and ruffles). Now, let’s get right to it, shall we?

Stephanie was so inspired, she submitted two outfits. The colorful skirt and scarf are so fun:

Our co-host Jen‘s pleated skirt and floral vest have a sculpted yet soft quality about them, so they’re perfect:

Kezzie looks so sweet in her white dress (she almost wore her wedding dress; I kinda wished she had!)

Erin picked two spot-on pieces – her ruffled cardigan and top:

This is the first time I get to feature Mary on my blog, so welcome, Mary! I love the unexpected color combo here:

How awesome is Isabella‘s hair? And how cute is that dress?

Finally, c’est moi:

And that concludes yet another great SIA challenge. Thank you ladies for participating, and check Jen’s blog next week for a new inspiration!

  1. They’re all so pretty! I really do like Mary’s color combination, though.

  2. Mary says:

Thanks Erin and Salazar (and for the warm welcome, too!); to be truthful, I wasn’t sure about adding the mint. I’m glad you like it!

  3. So pretty!!! I love that there was so much scope for interpretation, from colors to texture to even the mood evoked by this paper sculptures. Awesome round-up, ladies!
