SIA: Tamarack Swamp, Algoma

For this week’s SIA, inspired by  “Tamarack Swamp, Algoma” by Canadian artist Lawren Harris, I was determined to be a bit more interpretative with my outfit and not take the inspiration painting not so literally anymore. I think it turned out OK – my striped shirt and jeans echoes shades of blue and white in the paiting, and of course the yellow scarf and flats speak for themselves. Although upon closer inspection of the painting, I saw a bit of maroon/reddish purple in there too, so perhaps I should’ve worn my purple loafers instead of the flats, which are a bit too matchy-matchy. But then again those loafers are really beat up anyway. Oh well. Next time, SIA… next time.

    Perfecto Salazar!

  2. I really like the stripes in your shirt. It echoes the trees in the painting.

  3. […] Salazar, an SIA co-founder, chose to go a more casual route. So cute! And my color-coordinated heart sings at how the yellow scarf and flats play off each other. You can see more details over at Salazar’s blog, 14 Shades of Grey. […]
