Office Party

I don’t have to go back to work yet, but there is a New Year office party that I can’t get out of, so this is what I wore. It’s still skewed a bit young-looking, I think. A dress would be better, but I was too lazy to figure out what to layer with a dress. I guess I got a bit rusty after 10 days in nothing but baggy sweaters and old jeans.

Honestly though, I think I’m going through another winter style rut (even though winter is barely here at all). So far this season I’ve mostly worn three to four pieces each of tops, bottoms, and shoes. It’s not like I don’t have anything else, but I always reach for those pieces because styling them doesn’t require a lot of thinking. I may have to do a remix challenge to rediscover the rest of my closet.

This is super cute! The top and skirt give the look of a dress, and I love that the belt matches the turquoise in the embroidery. I encounter style ruts all too often, please share your tips on getting out of one!

  3. You still look so sweet. And I thought it was a dress! I like how the color of the belt picks up on the embroidery. 🙂
