Repeated Fashion

This skirt is another one from my mom’s closet, and this one I’m keeping as is because it’s pretty much perfect – the length, the color, the pleats. Since I sold my Helmut Lang pleated skirt before moving home (for a whooping $25, which is awesome considering I bought it for $5), I’ve been on the lookout for a light-colored pleated skirt again, and this is better than I could hope for. Plus it means I can finally recreate this outfit (my photos are nowhere near as gorgeous though.) My mom said she got it made some time in the early 90’s, which only goes to show that fashion, just like history, tends to repeat itself. Who knows, maybe fifty or a hundred years from now we’d all be wearing hoop skirts or panniers again.

Thank you! That’s just our front garden. It does look extra nice now that all the flowers are in bloom.
Yes really!! 🙂
This is a lovely outfit! Shoes, colors, accessories, everything. Really makes me feel spring is around the corner.
This outfit is adorable. I really like the stripes with that skirt – I really need to find that “perfect” striped shirt because I don’t own one but it goes with everything! I hope in 50 years we are all wearing giant hoop skirts – how fun would that be?!
What a beautiful skirt – it hangs so nicely! How lucky that you got it now!
Happy International Women’s Day to you too Salazar! Even though I’m a guy, I still celebrate this day because its an important day; celebrating great women throughout history. I celebrate it by telling this to all the women that are important to me. I’m a little late with this greeting however since you posted this back in 2013, but since we recently celebrated it for 2015 here, I figured it was cool to reply to this anyway.
