The Tree Of Life

What time is it? It’s SIA time! (Sorry, I’ve been watching a lot of Adventure Time. My niece is a big fan. Incidentally, Finn could totally participate in this week’s Style Imitating Art, provided that he lets his hair down.) The inspiration is Henri Matisse’s “Tree of Life” stained glass window:

Before we get to the looks, I want to give a shout out to our co-host, Vivienne of Thrifted Shift, who has decided to take a break from blogging. It’s been really fun to have you here with us Vivienne. We’ll miss you!

Now, let’s see the outfits, shall we? First up we have Rebekah of From the Mix-up Files, very pretty in mustard and blue:

Next up is Noelle of Tilly’s Notions, who picked this dress with a print that reminisces of a stained glass patter:

Then it’s my co-creator, Jess of Animated Cardigan, who picked the perfect color combo:

Kezzie of KezzieAG has the perfect pop of yellow:

And finally here’s my take. I might have gone a little overboard with the yellow, but can you blame me when it’s been so dreary around here? Full outfit post coming tomorrow!

ETA: And a late entry from Pao of Project Minima!

I only picked the perfect combination because you suggested it! I never would have thought to use this top if you hadn’t mentioned it. I really like the looks this week, and love all the yellow you’ve got on. That’s just fantastic.

  2. I like the use of these colors in the outfits everyone chose. This is such a cool idea, style imitating art. Can’t wait to see what you have next!

I always get so excited to see what everyone else is going to do! Love these looks!
