So It Begins

I was debating whether to sign up for it this year, because rather than writing a whole novel like I did last time, this year I want to work on a bunch of short stories and treatments, plus I want to write them in Vietnamese instead of English (I’m looking to submit them to some literary magazines), which may make it difficult to count toward the 50,000 words. After all, it doesn’t matter if I sign up or not as long as I write about 2000 words a day. In the end, I decided that yes, I do need that deadline hanging over my head, otherwise I would probably quit halfway through. Plus I’m sick of feeling unproductive. Last year I complete the challenge while juggling a part-time job and an internship, so there’s no reason why I can’t do it this year.
P/S: I may have finally figured out how to casually wear a pencil skirt – an untucked graphic T-shirt and a pair of grubby sneakers are the answer.
Shirt: thrifted, Cardigan: Target, Bracelet: self-made
Skirt: Forever21, Sneakers: Payless
I’ve been trying to think of ways to do the cool, dressed up graphic tee look, and I love this. So cute. I’ll have to keep it in mind.
I hear you about the NaNoWriMo thing. I mean, this is my first year, so I really have nothing to say about it yet, but I was debating still this morning whether I wanted to do it or not. I just stared at a blank screen and went back and forth about it. Now I’m 1,000 words in and stupidly optimistic. I see myself quitting by Saturday…
Good luck with Day 1!
First, love the skirt. Such a great colour & fit on you.
Second, doing my first nanowrimo. As long as I keep chanting: “I can do it,” it will all work, right?
That is the best graphic tee I’ve seen in a looooong time. Awesome look, awesome tee. And I can’t wait to hear how the writing progresses, I think it’s so good to give yourself milemarkers and deadlines. There’s a lecture that John Cleese gave on creativity, it’s a nice reminder of how to get yourself going and sustain… I’m sure it’s easy to find online.
Cute, casual look! That microscope tee is adorable 🙂 Good luck with your writing!
