The Actor

It’s another week here in Style Imitating Art, and the inspiration is The Actor by Picasso. This is the best I could do within the confines of my 30×30 picks. Sorry if my outfits and pictures haven’t been the most interesting lately, but honestly it’s so miserably hot (the photos came out so muggy from the humidity that I had to run them through Photoshop and make the blur look on purpose.) Things should start picking up around… October. I promise πŸ™‚ Oh, don’t forget to check out Animated Cardigan to see how the others interpreted the painting!

I actually love this glowy blurry effect! Wish I knew how to add these effects! I really like this outfit, it is simple yet interesting πŸ™‚

I shot these photos in RAW, so when processing the RAW files I just turned down the “Clarification” to -50. I think the lighting helped too. For normal photos, you can Google “Orton effect tutorial”. It’s pretty simple to do in Photoshop.

Love that tunic – perfect for summer!

I know what you mean about the heat and humidity – UGH, and it definitely makes style blogging difficult.

i love your leggings! it must be humid all over, because i have a mop of frizzy hair today!

Ugh, humidity. You can cut the air with a knife here too. I hate that the soft focus happened because your lens fogged but it does kinda suit the painting!

  5. […] from Picasso’s Rose Period. We’ve already featured another Rose Period painting, “The Actor“, in SIA a while back, but I can’t resist this because of the blue tones (naturally) […]

  6. […] On a related note, this is the second Rose Period painting in the Style Imitating Art catalog. You can see Salazar’s interpretation here. […]
