Invisible Layers

Like I said, I didn’t remember it being this cold in Hanoi, so I kept most of my light cardigans and donated about half of my sweaters. True, most of them were pretty old, but I could really use my turtlenecks.
So now I have to resort to wearing my lighter sweaters with thermal shirts. My outfit may look light (except for the scarf), but don’t be fooled. I was wearing a thermal shirt underneath my sweater and skinny jeans under my maxi skirt – yes, jeans. My legs get so cold that tights/leggings are not enough. I guess I could just wear the jeans instead of the skirt, but I have only worn this skirt once since I bought it, and I want it to see some light of day when it’s still cold enough for a black, lined maxi skirt. I can’t seem to style it any other way than with a fitted shirt and a scarf though.
A “behind the scene” photo – what I wore between shots (it was drizzling, hence the raincoat.) This is actually nicer than most other days, when I usually wear my dad’s old parka and look like a hobo.

one thing that’s really helpful for me in cold weather: fleece lined tights! I think you can find them in most stores now, they’re extremely warm!
You look so cute! I can never get away with long skirts like that; they’re just not flattering on me. I love the way you styled this, though. That yellow scarf is awesome, and I WANT the brooch! I’ve been wearing more of my brooches lately and it reminds me how much I love brooches.
Light layers are so practical … and ultimately more flattering on petite flowers like yourself.
You look ready for anything.
That brooch is so cute! What a perfect addition to your scarf
bummer about the cold
you still look great though, even with all of those layers! I really like the mustard + bright blue.
